The founders of Red Robot Industries will open a new creative hub, aiming to help Canberran manufacturers develop their ideas, early next year.
The successful photo booth business will be based at the new site in Fyschwick, which will also host a team of design and development professionals.
“We want to have a creative space where we have a lot of highly skilled people all under the one roof – so when someone comes along with a product idea they’ll basically have access to people who can help them every step of the way,” co-founder Phil Preston told The Canberra Times.
“We’ll help Canberrans take an idea, market test it, prototype it and hopefully turn it into a product that goes to market.”
Preston and Duncan Amos built their first phot booth in a garage in 2006.
According to their website, to date RRI has helped 431 customers into business, helped them generate $62.6 million, and taken over 40 million pictures.
The company was also a finalist at the 2015 Endeavour Awards, and last year won a Telstra Business Award for the ACT.
