Regional Young-based steel fabricator, Apollo Fabrication has secured a $740,000 grant from the NSW Government which is set to create jobs and expand operations.
The strategic investment has enhanced the company’s capabilities and led to the creation of 41 new jobs, including 18 apprenticeships.
“This investment is not just about expanding our capabilities; it’s about supporting the creation of ongoing employment and training opportunities in Young. Our world-class manufacturing facility is a testament to what can be achieved when local businesses are backed to succeed,” said CEO of Apollo Fabrication, Caleb Jackson.
The company ultimately aims to expand its workforce to 70 by the end of 2024.
Founded in 2000, Apollo Fabrication started with a focus on manufacturing waste management equipment and has since evolved into fabricator of large-scale, complex, and architectural steelwork.
The company’s solutions now serve a broad spectrum of sectors, from education and health to residential and defence.
The NSW Government’s investment enabled Apollo to purchase cutting-edge machinery and expand its office space.
This positions the company to potentially secure prestigious contracts such as work on Sydney’s Sirius Building and the Australian War Memorial Annex.
This also contributes towards Apollo Fabrication’s commitment in nurturing local talent through its apprenticeship program.
Max Jones and Dominic Grocott are a few of the many who have benefited from this opportunity and were able to work on significant projects like the Barangaroo Pier Pavilion in Sydney and the Australian Opal Centre in Lightning Ridge.
As Apollo Fabrication continues to expand, it remains a key player in the regional and national steel fabrication industry.
