Fire destroys awnings factory

A fire reported early this morning has destroyed a factory at Greenacre in south-west Sydney.

The Daily Telegraph and others report that emergency crews were called to the Davonne Blinds Shutters Curtains Awnings factory on Rosedale Avenue at 3:30 am.

Five brigades and around 100 firefighters came to the scene to battle the fire, which AAP reports began at a nearby wrecking yard.

The warehouse collapsed and the surrounding buildings were all damaged. No injuries have been reported.

The fire has been contained and motorists on Brunker Road and the Hume Highway are being diverted.
