300 jobs lost as pipe-maker PPI put in administration

Nearly 300 workers have been laid off at pipe manufacturer PPI Corp, which collapsed yesterday.

PPB Advisory was appointed to as administrators for the privately-held, Australian-owned group of companies, which will hold its first creditors meeting on January 25.

PPI has been operating for a quarter of a century and owns brands including PPI and Neta.

The Courier Mail reports that hundreds involved in the state’s manufacturing sector lost their jobs yesterday, with Boral making 140 of their 700 redundancies in Queensland.
