As many as
100 new jobs will be created in a Sync Building Systems factory expansion in
Brooklyn.
The factory
in Melbourne’s west employs about 100 – many who were formerly employed in the
auto industry – and is set to double this, reports AAP, as well as double production at the site.
Sync makes “high-quality,
modular bathrooms offsite on a subassembly line” and is part of Hickory Building Systems, an integrated construction company.
The $3 million expansion was assisted by financial support and facilitation
from the Victorian government’s Department of Economic Development’s Investment
Support Program and the Victorian Government Business Office.
“Hickory’s expansion will create more than
100 highly skilled jobs in an innovative growth manufacturing sector,” said Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews in a statement.
