Industrial Measurement says Romer measuring arms coupled with Dezignworks plugin software enables the Romer arm to sketch directly into Solidworks and similar CAD softwares to accuracies of up to ±5micron.
According to Industrial Measurement, this revolutionary system combines both the measuring and inspection process to dramatically increase the efficiency and effectiveness of reverse engineering applications by up to seven times.
The company says the arms have previously being used in quality inspection of parts and also used with various metrology software. Creators of Dezignworks, Creative Dezign Concepts has now enabled the arm to operate as a complete reverse engineering system.
Romer arms come in a range of 1.2metres to 4.5 metres in size. Three models with different tolerances for specific applications are available.
