Backplane Systems Technology has presented MPL AG’s PANEL18, an 18-Inch fanless rugged panel PC powered by Intel’s Atom and Core processors.
This 18″ Panel PC family is designed to act as a front-end interface for rugged, secure, or sensitive environments, where reliability and quality are key. They are equipped with powerful Intel processors, ranging from the Atom up to the i7 Quad Core, and are designed for minimum power consumption with a passive cooling system and no ventilation or fan required.
They come equipped with protective and anti-glare hardened Schroff glass, which is extremely strong and well-suited for a tough everyday life. It is installed seamlessly with the PC’s housing and meets the IP65 standard on the front side, while the complete system has an extended temperature range of -20°C to 70°C. The solid housing underlines the premium standard of MPL’s Panel PC Family. An optional capacitive touch screen can also be added, and the screen is perfectly legible even under difficult lighting conditions.
The PANEL18 works with a range of different operating systems (Windows 10, Linux, etc) and is the ideal solution for harsh applications including (but not limited to) industry, railways, maritime, and vehicles. The PANEL18 is 100 per cent designed and produced by MPL AG in Switzerland, and the system is designed to meet or even exceed typical standards such as IEC60945, EN50155, CE, and MIL-STD-810.
