UK engineering company QinetiQ has set up a new office in South Australia. The opening was done by Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP. The office looks to make more room for their growing staff size.

At the moment, QinetiQ Australia has 350 specialist staff located across Australia who use their know-how to deliver value solutions to Australian defence and government organisations across air, land, sea and information domains as well as the rail and mining industries.

“South Australia has a strong Defence industry, and QinetiQ’s new office demonstrates their confidence in and commitment to Australia and Australian jobs,” Pyne said.

“QinetiQ provides a range of advanced services to Defence, recently acquiring RubiKon Group; it has 27 staff now in Adelaide.”

Pyne described QinetiQ as an important industry support partner for flight testing systems at Woomera Test Range, and has recently commenced engineering, logistics and business support for the P-8A Poseidon’s crucial Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities in South Australia.

Pyne also said the Government’s investment in Defence capability was a national program across all States and Territories.

“South Australia is well placed to benefit from the Government’s unprecedented $200 billion Defence investment.

“Companies like QinetiQ are making important investment decisions now to set themselves up for success in the future and to take advantage of these opportunities,” said Pyne.
