Profibus training courses in Sydney and Perth

THE Australian Profibus Association will be hosting accredited Profibus training courses in Sydney and Perth commencing October 2007.

The two internationally recognised Profibus courses — Certified Installer Course and the Certified Engineers Course — will be conducted in Sydney and Perth by Andy Verwer, Principal Lecturer, Department of Engineering and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK.

The Profibus Installer Course is an internationally-accredited one-day course and covers the layout, installation and testing of Profibus networks.

It is designed to be suitable for all engineers and technicians involved in the planning and installation of Fieldbus networks, and no previous knowledge of Fieldbus systems is required.

Course intake is limited to 12 people per group and sessions will be held in Sydney on 15 October and Perth on October 22.

The second training course on offer is the Profibus Engineers Course, an internationally accredited course covering PROFIBUS Network Design, Commissioning and Live fault-finding.

Running for the duration of 3.5 days, this course specifically targets enegineers and technicians who already have a basic technical knowledge of PROFIBUS or other Fieldbus systems.

Participants will learn first-hand how to design, install and troubleshoot PROFIBUS DP networks, how to use diagnostic tools to detect faults and identify their causes.

To take part in the hands-on course, completition of the Installer Course, or similar accredited course, is required.

Courses to be held in Sydney will run from the 16-19 October and in Perth on the 23-26.
