NMW 2011 dates announced

The official dates for National Manufacturing Week 2011have been announced by event organiser Reed Exhibitions; the exhibition will be held on 24 to 27 May in Melbourne.

Co-located with Austech and, for the first time including Ausplas, NMW 2011 will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More than 40 per cent of NMW 2011’s floorspace has already been allocated on the back of strong results for NMW 2010, Reed Exhibitions says.

This year’s event in Sydney in May attracted 10,000 visitors, and drew a high calibre of guests. There was almost equal representation from business owners and the shop floor: more than 20 per cent of attendees were directors/CEOs or equivalent, and a similar number were tradespersons, supervisors/leading hands/factory floor managers or equivalent, Reed Exhibitions says.

“Reed Exhibitions would like to thank visitors, sponsors and supporters for making NMW 2010 an exciting and successful event,” says Paul Baker, NMW 2010 exhibition manager.

Baker comments that the ‘cautiously confident’ tone of NMW 2010 translated to solid leads for many exhibitors.
