Lithium-ion battery manufacturer to work with Israel drone company

Lithium-ion battery manufacturer UltraCharge has signed a letter of intent with Israel-based Aeronautics Ltd to develop advanced battery solutions for military and civilian drones.

Aeronautics is a specialist manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and, in the successful development of a prototype, the two companies may pursue an ongoing business partnership.

UltraCharge, an Israeli manufacturer also based in Perth, said that the collaboration will create new opportunities to bring advanced battery technology to the emerging UAV market, which was valued at more than US$18 billion (A$23 billion) last year.

“The intention of this development is to achieve more endurance time in order to keep our technology leadership in the UAV market while providing advanced solutions to our battery performance,” said Danny Escher, Aeronautics deputy CEO for marketing sales and business development.
