STAUFF extends its range of tube-end assembly machines

STAUFF Press SPRC-PRC-MA

STAUFF is targeting its new cutting ring assembly machine SPR-PRC-MA at Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance and Repair Organisations (MRO’s), who require a compact and extremely versatile small-to-medium production machine for hydraulic connection technology.

The new SPR-PRC-MA assembly machine is ideal for the assembly of cutting rings and 37° flaring of tube ends. The pressure required for cutting ring assembly can either be determined automatically or adjusted and set manually.

The durable electro-hydraulic-operated table-top device from STAUFF’s range of tube-end processing machinery range is ideal for the pressure-controlled assembly of cutting rings from the Light and Heavy Series in accordance with ISO 8434-1 / DIN 2353 on tube ends with outer diameters between 6 mm and 42 mm. The range of tooling heads, which can be quickly adapted to the machine can also provide tubes with dimensions of up to 42 x 4 mm in the Light Series and up to 38 x 5 mm in the Heavy Series with 37° flaring in accordance with DIN 3949 or SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2. With the aid of the appropriate assembly tools, tubes in imperial sizes up to 1-1/2 inch OD can also be flared in compliance with the standard.

The cutting ring is assembled with the pre-assembly tooling head, available in two-versions; the automatic tool head which automatically detects the required pressure parameters based on the tube dimensions set in the assembly tools, and reducing any risk of assembly errors by ensuring a consistently high level of accuracy during production. Up to 7-assembly programs per diameter can be saved in the machine’s internal memory. The tube materials E235 and E355 steel as well as stainless steel 316 are pre-programmed as standard.

Alternatively, a second tooling head is available; the pressure can only be set manually using the control button and the digital display on the machine. The setting values recommended for the assembly of STAUFF Connect cutting rings are supplied on delivery of the machine.

The development of the SPR-PRC-MA assembly machine considered the operator with short set-up, assembly and tool change times – e.g. when adapting the tube diameter or changing the machining process. This provides for the assembly process of small and medium quantities with a high level of economic and cost benefits, efficiency, reproducibility and process reliability with a high degree of safety in mind. The features of the SPR-PRC-MA assembly machine benefits the operator through a compact machine housing design, easily accessible controls, and optimised assembly area ensures that tube bends with small bending radii with complex geometries can easily be processed.

These qualities make the SPR-PRC-MA the machine of choice when hydraulic manufacturers and repairers require a compact yet extremely versatile assembly machine, which also performs well in a factory or on-site environment.

STAUFF has been developing, producing and marketing hydraulic fluid components and accessories for over 50 years, with the manufacturing and design headquartered in Germany and products distributed in more than 40 countries through a global network.

Having been present in Australia for over four decades, STAUFF has branches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong. The company’s sales and distribution offices are also supported through a national network of authorised distributors and stockists.

STAUFF’s products provide port-to-port solutions, from the component level, filter systems and filter elements for fluid media, pressure and flow test systems, hydraulic accessories, hydraulic accumulators, flanges, tube connectors and quick release couplings, clamping systems for pipes, hoses and cables, machined parts through to value-adding services.

While manufacturing and design are carried out in Germany, we also offer value-added services in Australia. So if you buy components such as tubes and clamps from us, we offer value-added services such as assembling the parts, bending tubes, forming and custom system-build solutions.

STAUFF facilities and products are covered by Quality and Performance approvals from Lloyd’s Register QA, SAI Global, Bureau Veritas, DNV GL.
