Safe working in the sun

THE Cancer Council NSW will release a new tool for working safely in the sun at The Safety Show Sydney and Sydney Materials Handling.

The "Skin Cancer and Outdoor Work" resource includes a detailed booklet for employers, managers and safety officers, as well as a separate brochure for workers.

The guides provide information and advice about understanding and addressing sun protection in the workplace.

The Cancer Council NSW says that under OHS legislation, employers should take steps to reduce risks and protect employees from exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation, which could lead to cancer. This new resource aims to help everyone in the workplace understand that risk.

Find out more about sun safety and get the new resources at stand A13 during The Safety Show Sydney and Sydney Materials Handling, which runs from October 24 to 26 at the Sydney Showground.
